Experiential learning activity by class X-“Two Stories about Flying “

A very engrossing experiential learning activity was performed by the students of class X on 28/3/2022. The activity was related to the lesson “Two Stories about Flying – 1. His First Flight 2. Black Aeroplane”. We the students of class 10 were led to the school ground/amphitheater, where we were told to make paper planes and write an inspiring quote on their wings or body. Subsequently, we threw the paper planes into the air to see how far it travels. We modified the model plane to see if it was making any change in the distance which it traveled when we flew it again. We later perfected our model to make it more aerodynamic. It was delightful to see so many colorful paper planes drifting in the pleasant morning breeze. After that, the students made a mesmerizing human formation that looked like an airplane. The students of classes 10 A and B worked together to create this wonderful spectacle. On the whole, the students had a lot of fun while doing the activities.

My take-away from this activity is that flying is not as easy as it looks, it requires determination, skill, and focus. Whether it is a bird or an airplane, we have to accept the challenges that come in our path and keep on improving to soar higher in the sky. We can also realize that pilots and airplane mechanics have a demanding and challenging job to maintain the accuracy of a plane, without which it will not fly effectively. That is why they are an inspiration for us.
