In order to give them a proper understanding of how a simple machine works, the students of class 5 were instructed to make a model of the see-saw. See-saw is an example of a first-class lever. A lever which is one among the six basic types of simple machines has three different parts – effort, load, and fulcrum, which the students were able to identify as they made the model of the see-saw by themselves.
