October 2, celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti, is also marked as Rashtriya Swachhta Diwas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the movement on Mahatma Gandhiji’s 139 birth anniversary on October 2, 2014. The campaign is a huge sucess, the awareness drive on the importance of cleanliness is taken to a new height. We at Unicent School celebrated Swachhta Diwas in our school also by conducting awareness programmes, assemblies, etc. Through these programmes children understood how to keep their surroundings clean and why it is important to maintain cleanliness.
