Our grade 2 students had a virtual tour of West Papua, Indonesia Coral Reef as a part of the lesson “The Beach” to bring the awareness among them on how human activities are threatening the health of the world’s oceans. Teachers explained about the beauty of the oceans and how they provide habitats to many living organisms. The virtual tour is quite interactive, with a short video. It’s a beautiful video where one can see so many species of aquatic animals. After the video teachers explained about the threats to marine environment like ocean dumping, land run off, industrial activities, global warming, and waste pollution from ships etc. The activity was concluded with a quiz. The outcome of this virtual tour was the knowledge and the awareness of the biodiversity and our interdependence……..
