IDS Collaborative Video

The International Dimension In Schools (IDS) is a global accreditation scheme recognizing good practice in incorporating the international dimensions into schools. This provides a great opportunity for children to develop skills of life through learning in depth and understanding different ways of life. The topic taken this year is about Food In Seasons and Seasonal delicacies. Through this topic discussions about different seasons and their respective times of occurrence, delicacies prepared with their local produce in India and all other collaborating countries helped them to gain new perspectives. The video presented here is about the seasons and the seasonal delicacies of India highlighting the health benefits and the need to consume what is locally procured. Videos and PPT were shared to highlight these aspects. Through the conduct of different activities like the survey of traditional food prepared during the seasons at home, role plays, pick and talk of the different delicacies, assembly presentations and the nutritional value and benefit of the food consumption, children developed a cultural understanding, communication skills, knowledge and awareness of the wider world. As a result every child developed a unique set of skills and knowledge in a fun way.
