Some visits can take us into our pasts and make one take pride of the country’s legacy, its heritage and culture…. At times a good historian can proximate the purpose..
There was a wonderful opportunity for Grade VI and VII to a spirited workshop by Mrs. Ar Madhu Vottery Heritage Education and Cultural Tourism Consultant with two decades of rich professional experience in working with UNESCO, WMF, ICOMOS India Tourism- Ministry of Culture- CCRT AP & Telangana Tourism, TS Forest Academy and local agencies.
The session was part of the Tourism Department’s Azadki Amrut Mahostav, which aimed to educate people about the Freedom Movement and India’s 75th year of independence. Also for achieving the goal of enhancing students’ skills for work education.
Mrs. Madhu, who authored five books and curated a mobile app documenting 275 heritage sites in Hyderabad, brought all the fascinating facts of the Indus Valley Civilization to modern India, imparting knowledge about cultural, historical structures and monuments, architecture temples, and engineering specifications, all of which piqued the students’ interest in Indian history.
It was an ‘Interactive Session ‘for there was a perpetual serving of queries and answers … The concept of AD and BC was beautifully explained spacing students Brainstorm and understand themselves. Postcards and bookmarks were distributed as a response and in recognition of the responses.
